bfs d Stefan Flachsbarth and Michael Schultz founded their studio in 2000 after several years of working in international architecture firms. Since then they design and create private living spaces, apartments, but also public buildings like galleries and cafes. The Berlin-based Restaurant Alpenstueck was designed by them just as well as the food store Kochhaus. The redevelopment and extension of a Shell gas station from the 1950s into a living space and studio was awarded with the Berlin Price for Architecture in 2009.
