Apartment Budapest

Residential

An apartment for a family of 4 was rebuilt in a quiet backyard: located in the heart of Budapest, close to the Andrassy ut, just a 5 minute walk from the banks of the Danube. The apartment, with 3.5m high ceilings and 140m ² floor area was completely re-designed and re-constructed.

Great care has been taken to obtain special materials and install it again in a similar style. Thus, the parquet floors and the natural stone tiles in the former kitchen have been carefully renovated to be reinstalled.

The rigid space division of the former 5 bedroom apartment has been broken up: the former rooms – sometimes barely lit or only by a light shaft – has been recreated to emerge as spacious, light-filled spaces that meet the needs of builders.

The wooden double glazed windows and double wooden doors were preserved and restored. The existing fundamental structure and material was combined with a sleek modern design. Oak herringbone parquet with high white baseboards, white or light gray walls, mosaic tiles on the wall in the bathroom, in combination with large tiles on the floor, a mixture of carefully selected vintage furniture and modern objects give the house a pleasant light and unobtrusive but stylish atmosphere.
