These designs are probably the best-known and most produced tubular steel classics. Its most important feature is the sophisticated design and the ingenious aesthetic connection of tubular steel, wood and wickerwork. The design was made in Breuer’s fruitful years in Berlin from 1928 to 1931, when he left the Bauhaus and became an independent architect and interior designer, creating a series of magnificent interiors and designing numerous pieces of furniture. Thonet has been producing these models since 1930, and their aesthetic reduction and clarity make them suitable for many areas: conference, waiting areas, restaurants and into the apartment.

Without (S 32) and with armrests (S 64). Frame chrome-plated tubular steel or painted in colour. Wooden parts stained beech. Covering with wickerwork with transparent, stable plastic support fabric, mesh fabric or upholstered and covered with leather or fabric. The upholstery variant is also available in “Pure Materials” versions. Also a version with net fabric in black with wooden parts in walnut oiled. The underside of the backrest is sewn by hand.
